Before The Appointment

How do you prepare for your appointment?

Our goal is for you to leave our aesthetic clinic feeling like the best version of yourself, and that starts with the right preparation for your appointment! Here are just some things we suggest before you get a full-body wax:

Be patient and let your hair grow.

Hair growth should be about ¼” inch or about the size of a rice grain for best results. If you want to take complete advantage of your waxing/ sugaring session, make sure to put down the razor and let your hair grow at the appropriate length to maximize your results.

Exfoliating is your best friend.

Gently exfoliating your skin 24 hours after your waxing or sugaring appointment can help your complexion breathe properly and helps you remove dead skin cells. Exfoliating the waxed area can eliminate ingrown hairs and keeps the hair follicle clean. Pair your exfoliating routine with a bit of moisturizer, and you will see your skin thrive until your next waxing or sugaring session!

Your skin should be clean and dry.

Please avoid using any powders. sprays, creams, or lotions on the day of your appointment. It is much harder for the hair to get pulled from its follicle when it’s wet, so make sure to keep the area being serviced dry.

Menstruating

You can still get Brazilian Waxing/ sugaring during your periods. Please wear the tampon during the service. Heads up- you might be more sensitive than usual during this time.

Leave the waxing and sugaring up to us!

There are plenty of good waxing kits on the market, but you’re never going to get that super smooth skin at home. Our professional aestheticians can combine our years of experience and elite products to give you the best waxing/ sugaring possible. Plus, we can always give you tips and tricks of the industry to keep your skin looking its best!

Ditch the razor.

Whether you have been a huge fan of waxing or sugaring for years, or are just starting to love the benefits, you should toss that razor before your appointment. When you shave, your hair will grow back in all different directions and make it more difficult for the wax to latch onto your skin, especially if it’s short. Instead of shaving, we suggest using a small pair of scissors to trim any excess hair to maximize your appointment. If shaved, please wait for 2 weeks for the hair to grow back at appropriate length for waxing or sugaring.

Wear loose clothing.

We highly recommend our clients to wear loose-fitting clothing and to stay away from anything tight. Breezy clothing will help your skin breathe easier after your appointment and keep away any sweat that can get trapped in the hair follicle. For ladies, we suggest wearing skirts or dresses, and for men we suggest loose cotton pants and baggier shirts.

Loose clothing is highly suggested. Your skin’s sensitivity will be much more enhanced, and you will not want to wear any garments that tend to rub.

We suggest looser cotton clothing, skirts, dresses or looser blouses accommodate your newly waxed/sugared skin.

There are multiple culprits that can cause ingrown hairs. Factors like tight clothing, bacteria or sweat getting into the hair follicle, constantly wearing synthetic materials (spandex and nylon), dry skin not being removed and friction in the waxed area are the most common reasons.

We suggest wearing loose clothing and using a brush daily to remove any dead skin cells from the site. You want to give your skin as much freedom as possible, so ingrown hairs won’t be able to form.

To safely remove ingrown hairs, we suggest scrubbing the area and using a sterilized tweezer to pluck them out. We can advise you post-waxing or sugaring appointments on your best options to keep the area smooth!.

The length of time between appointments will be dependent on how many times you have been waxing, if you follow the proper after-care protocol, whether you are shaving in between appointments and the thickness of your hair.

We solely use Berodin soft and hard wax, the top brand in the hair-removal industry, and hold the utmost sanitization standards to ensure your appointment is spectacular.

In the area you intended to wax, your hair needs to be about ¼ inch, which is the equivalent to a grain of rice.

Generally, it takes about two weeks of not shaving for hair to grow to this length. Anything shorter will not be long enough for the wax or sugaring components to attach to the hair, and any hair longer than the suggested length will need to be trimmed beforehand.

In order to maximize your waxing/sugaring appointment, you should follow a few steps for after-care. Here are some of the most effective things to avoid after getting an area, or your whole body, waxed:

• Take a cold shower after your appointment. Keep the waxed area clean and give your pores a chance to breathe.

• Refrain from using harsh cleansers or creams 24 hours post-wax.

• Stay away from any saunas, tanning beds or steam rooms as these activities can increase your skin’s chances of becoming irritated.

• Don’t touch the freshly waxed areas, as this can encourage irritation and small pimples in the area.

• Using a large brush, make sure to scrub the waxed area. An alternative can also be utilizing an exfoliating glove to prevent ingrown hairs and bumps in the area.

Everyone’s skin is different. While one individual might not see hair growth for a whole month, another person may notice hair growing after two weeks.

Generally, waxing and sugaring will last you about four to 5 weeks before you’ll need another service. What we can tell you for sure is that the more you wax/sugar, the rarer the hair will grow back.

Our monthly memberships allow you to have access to our amazing waxing/sugaring appointments while making it extremely affordable to achieve silky smooth skin any time of the year!

While shaving might seem like a fast way to remove unwanted body hair, it’s not a long-term solution. Shaving cuts your hair at skin level, increasing your chances of itchy regrowth, razor burn, discoloration and ingrown hairs. No thanks!

Waxing and sugaring, on the other hand, will guarantee you smooth, hair-free skin for weeks at a time – there will be no stubble, even as the hair grows back. Due to waxing and sugaring ripping the hair at the root, you will notice finer and softer hair growing over timeained team.
